Teh Slax Spacestation
I reactivated my EvE accounts recently and I am planning on setting up my own station within a wormhole.
This thread is mainly so Sapphic and I can make sure we've done the homework and prepare logistically for the setup. Wormhome life is not for beginning players, but if anyone wants to play EvE this would be a great time. You could get rich quickly

Tower Type:
The Amarr towers have the most power grid and decent cpu so it could fit the most modules. The faction towers have less fuel requirements, as well as more hp and faster anchoring time... so it's definitely worth the investment imo. So with that in mind, the Dark Blood towers are my top choice. We'll need to find a wormhole where we can get some of the fuel required. This is what the Amarr block requires.
I am really leaning towards a Class 4. The affect we can discuss later, but bonus to shield would probably be the best. Most people assume c3 is the highest you can farm solo and since C4 can't have capitols like c5, it ends up being empty. Especially since you only have 1 static and its not to K-space.
As far as the static, well I'm open to suggestions here. A c2 would be nice for easier farm as well as our opening to kspace, but a c3 would do similar. ]
The other option is a c2 with 2 statics, or even a c3/c2. A c2 with a c4 and HS sounds promising, it definitely won't be as quiet as the C4 but we could then roll the C4 on super farm days and also have a gateway to highsec (which is new player friendly) as well as easier on fuel.
Mining:
Do you have mining experience or skills?
Planetary Interaction:
Training this now, should be able to take care of all planets. Have you done this? Definitely want planets that help fuel the pos.
Moving in:
What ship is best to bring in the tower and mods, a Crane (cloaky t2 hauler) ? Maybe we can have each of us bring a transport ship in and then I'll bring a couple support ships to escort us (cloaky link boat to probe and speed boost, and then a pilgrim or some other cloaky recon). Thoughts?
Player Role's Needed:
Planetary Interaction
Mining
Probers/Scouts/Mappers
Refueling Specialist
Haulers
PvE Fleet Leader
Sleeper Site Farmer
PvP ops leader

I won't be able to play until Sunday but I'll be on then.
You can start training the basic skills within the electronics, navigation, and engineering sub categories. Then you can try to figure out what you want to do in the game. What type of pve, pvp, mining, manufacturing, hauling, griefing etc.
I can get you a basic skill plan.

Re: Teh Slax Spacestation
Gotten some interest from some TL guys, some new some old.
This makes me thinking about a potential c2 with static c3 and HS. The HS static makes refueling a lot easier and is better on newbie peeps. We could then evolve into a c4 over time depending on how we do.

Re: Teh Slax Spacestation
I've now purchased the dark blood medium tower and all the modules I need. With 2 days worth of strontium and 10 days worth of pos fuel, my orca can barely fit most of the modules.
I have a couple WH's lined up... will decide tomorrow.
c2 w/ static C4 and HS - Good for logistics with the High sec. C4 would be the farm spot when we wanted to roll it. Good pvp
c4 w/ static c4/c3 - serious pvp and pve opportunities. difficult logistically, home would be "safe"
c4 w/ static HS or c1 and c2-4 - use either the c1 or HS for logistics. then farm the c2 -4

Puff / Sapphic:
i started playing last night, i was lost as fuck but after 2 hours of tutorial reading i got the hang of it. I'm loving how deep this fucking game is lol.
i went past the first part of the tutorial, i know how to move in space and shit. i got to the part where i have to choose a profession. Looked like mining was profitable so i went and started those mission (im 2/10 atm). Regarding the professions, are you able to roll more than one? i see the other ones are are there but i havent touched them. The tutorial suggested me to go for the frigate ship research so i left it over night as well as the mining ship.
At this point im gonna need any direction you could give me to not waste time in stuff im not going to put on use ASAP. I will be playing it today the whole day. Hit me up on battle.net or skype (javeh@hotmail.com).
BTW i love how the website looks nice .

Re: Teh Slax Spacestation
Cool merm, glad you are playing.
There professions in Eve are not like WoW, you can always learn every skill in game (if you had enough time). So if you put some skill points into mining, you could still put it into industry, or ore refinement, or manufacturing, or just never do a classic profession and make your own (like killing people and taking their shit).
Some basic ways to make money
https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Making_ISK
Some basic skills you wil want to get to 4
Navigation 4 - 5% bonus to sub-warp ship velocity per skill level.
CPU Management 4 - 5% bonus to ship CPU output per skill level.(Used for fitting ships.)
Power Grid Management 4 - 5% bonus to ship's powergrid output per skill level. (Used for fitting ships.)
Capacitor Management 4 - 5% bonus to capacitor capacity per skill level. (Used to activate your ships modules.)
Mechanics 4 - 5% bonus to structure hit points per skill level.
Shield Management 4 - 5% bonus to shield capacity per skill level.
Hull Upgrades 4 - 5% bonus to armor hit points per skill level.
Spaceship command 4 - 2% improved ship agility for all ships per skill level.
Like I've literally never mined and never have to. You don't even necessarily have to do the tutorials, the universe is your playground to make money. Sap has mined a bit so he might be able to help ya out. Our wormhole will have some valuable gas to mine, if you could mine in our wormhole you could probably pay for your account for just mining there.
Message Pufftrees in game an il invite you to tehslax.
And dont forget

Got it setup!
First shot is hauling some stuff in the orca, which was too fat to make it through the WH entrance anyways.

Re: Teh Slax Spacestation
That's cool Merm. Gallente drone ships are very powerful.
After destroyer you should work towards the Vexor (Gallente cruiser) and medium drones or tech 2 light drones. For end game ships you will be working towards the Gila, Rattlesnake, Vexor Navy issue, Ishtar, Dominix.
You can find an Agent, these are guys in station that offer mission. In Eve, once you can access an agent (requires standings), they will give you infinite quests. There is a pool of say 50 quests and when you complete one he will give you another, you will never run out. Agents start at level 1 and don't take much standings. As you mission then you get more standings, and you can access level 2 agents. This goes up to 5 but 4 is about as high as you can go in normal space. Level 4 mission running can make you 50million an hour or more so it's a good way for intro players to support their account 'safely'.
There is also Cosmic anomalies that appear in a system. These are seen by doing Alt-P and looking at the sites it finds. You simply warp to them and kill the pirates waiting. There is a chance of a boss pirate spawning that can drop 100m + in loot. Anomalies go from 1-10 in difficulty, but with a vexor you can probably do 1 or 2. Just another alternative for making money by doing combat.
I suggest you read on Missions and also on anomalies.
Once you get through that if you want to look into industry... You should check out Planetary interaction (something you can do in the wormhole), or gas mining or moon mining. You can also looking into industry (making and researching items etc). This can be done on my wormhole station.

Re: Teh Slax Spacestation
EVEmon can be a little tricky to setup.
There is something for each character called an API key. This key keeps track of every ability you have etc, you can only get your API key securely on the eve site (Evemon will link you there).
How to get evemon working:
1. Once installed, you click one of the top menu's and go to import character.
2. It will bring you to a screen where you enter 2 numbers, an ID and then the API key. There are also links on this page that takes you to the eve main site.
3. The link will send you to Eve main site, log in and you should be able to get the ID and API key, go back and put these in Evemon.
4. Now EVEmon has your character saved. You can look at all your current skills and the ones you currently have in queue.
5. Finally using evemon, one of the top menus has something called "create skill plan", name it whatever and start.
6. Now this is a blanket skill plan, where you go through the skill books or whatever and can queue up stuff. The best way to do this would be to search an item like Vexor, then it will show you the skills you need to fly vexor. Then click on the skills and then "train to 4" or 5 depending. Similarly you can look through the other skill books or find basic plans online and then add them to your plan. Then you can look at medium drone, like Hammerhead II, then add the skills for that. Then look at large shield extender II, and add skills for that etc etc.
7. Save plan and share with others or simply try to then setup your actually eve plan to mimic the evemon plan.
For setting up ship, eve university ( yes eve university) has great online guides. I would suggest the algos as its the drone destroyer.
Algos fits they have fittings at the bottom. backout and use their site for all the info you need

Sap the farm is real up in here. The c4's are super quiet.
CLass 4 Wormhole Sites
Integrated Terminus and Frontier Command post are NP for us, just bring a tengu thats got 70k range or can handle a +30 GJ nuet to support what I got. Assume perfect siege links, and 1-2 skirmish for the sites if I bring active main ship. Rattlesnake gets 2k+ dps passive tank with 6 relays on bottom, and with the mobile depot it puts out around 1200 dps when you are in damage. Next time I am on I will try to do the sites with Rattle + Tengu + Links tripple box. I was going to today but I needed to make a HS run to refit the snake.
And mobile depot + 4 stabs in lower slots (6 for Rattle) then we should be able to get out okay.
