Forgot to mention, this is Day 1. The tourney is held on weekends for the next 4 weeks. Winning team of these tournaments get a 50 run blueprint for a 1 time very unique OP ship. So there will only be 50 of these ships ever, and your alliance gets it. These ships typically are worth around 50b each which is 1500 bucks of plex or about 1k to open sell... so nice lol.

It has been fun getting killed by them, I had the good fortune to hang out on voice comms a few days back also. Long story short, they like pufftrees and think the internet got a little smaller. After the conversation got boring I pointed them and they exploded true eve style..or maybe they pointed me- details, lots of explosions and empty beers. I got some pro tips, it was off the charts on computer game fun scale.

On a similar note we should setup a time so you can put my alt in teh slax. I havent watched the alliance tourny vid's but this game is fun as shit and maybe there are some scrubs who wanna play tackle and explode in glorious blue fireballs.

Nice sapphic... Ya I had many good times with them even though I stopped being hardcore once I moved to AZ back in October. I was very rich and agressive in PvP, what's not to love? I moved two of my accounts back to molden heath... Once the other two are there we can setup shop. Eve definitely can be so fun and rewarding.

Little bit of both, but mainly the ship setups.

Theres over 200 ships in eve... then very close to infinite ways to fit them up.

For this tourney.. everyteam is allowed "50 points". Different types of ships take different points up... for example team liquid had 3 16 point tengus and 1 cheapo frigate, totally to 50. The other team had 6 ships that totaled 50.

Once they get past group stages it turns into 100 point battles where its 12v12. The subletys of the 100MN tengus teamliquid flies can't really be explained without a 3 hour lecture... but that other team didn't have much chance there.

The teamliquid ships were fast with long range, the enemy team was close range. If teamliquid just charged in they would die.. but since they are faster with more range it was almost impossible for other team to win.

Chessur is the guy I spent all night with drinking beer, I feel famous. In other news my alt has enough cash to pay for my account for the next year \o/

I just moved my 3rd account to Oddelulf... we can definitely launch pvp from there. I just gank any missioner in the surrounding systems and try to do a low sec pve sites.

Got an escalation today, took me all day to complete. People kept trying to probe me down and I wasn't pvp fit enough so just had to hide for a bit. Then finally make it to the boss of the complex and he's too strong for my tengu. So I had to bring my 3rd account Cheefhydro in 40 jumps from Saranen. Eventually take all 3 accounts to the escalation and down the boss.

50m in loot.. coulda been 3b easy ;((

Are you living in Heild with E-uni Sapp? Is that their new home for now, or just some of them living there?

I like oddelulf as a home because... its 1 jump from high sec (you catch a lot of missioners coming in and not realizing I am going to hunt them), its 1 jump from istodard pocket (6 systems, great for exploring, run mainly by russians). It's "Angel Pirate" space so the exploration is profitable. The e-war from npcs isn't too bad (neuts/webs). The pirates in region are weak to explosive/kinetic so Tengu/Machariel smashes them. It's also only 6 jumps from Hek or 8 from Rens so not too far from trade hubs.

What can you fly Sap? I can help you pay for a few ships if you can fly battlecruiser... even if you can only fly light tackle we can crush people I'm freightering in some ships from Jita so I can bring you a few ships if you need.

Wow, thats a lot of jumps. That sounds like a crazy complex, I have only done little frigate ones. Ill try to be brief but answering your questions will require a wall of text.

My skills are lo-mid grade at this point. Basically all I fly is small tackle because I haven't made the jump to tech 2 medium guns. I can fly battle cruisers, even a battle ship in a few days, but yeah...havent trained the guns up. So mostly I am in just dessy's and frigs atm, since I can fly those reasonably well. I have been working on secondary/fit skills. Recently I have been flying around assault frigates, on tuesday I will be able to get into inty's but I will need a few days before I actually get into one.

Financially, I am pretty set...my alt crossed the 5 billion mark today, plus about another 2 billion in hulls. I still a dumb noob doh. Making isk hasnt been my focus thus far, but I have found out I am ridiculously lucky with blink auctions. Next week my alt will be able to hop in an orca so I can move my shit without having to pay someone else to do it for me.

I was in heild with e-uni but they have moved the little low sec group to the middle of butt fuck...everywhere we go wars seem to start. Molden Heath was a lot of fun though. I have had some good fights with gunpoint diplomacy and black rebel rifter club. Pirates don't like getting blob'd, it seems, and thus they wardec the uni, which makes people angry and afraid. So as of typing this I am in low sec in amarr space...near the entrance to Fountain and Syndicate. The only thing I have moved here is a rupture, a rifter and a jaguar though...so i can make a speedy exit.

Actually I just hit the 3 month mark in E-UNI and have been pretty active so I should "graduate" soon. I have been corp shopping and was thinking about The Spawning Pool after hanging out with some people from TL. Red vs Blue also seems like it would be alot of fun, even though it would be lacking in glory -I was thinking about making another account and putting a char in there, or maybe I will just use it for ganking...I'm pretty undecided about everything right now. The real reason I want to make another account is I just hate the fact that I used a random last name for my character, and I want a new name lol...but yeah...7 mil skill points is a lot to throw away, not to mention all the noobness I have had to deal with in the uni.

I sent spears a trial a few days ago but not sure if he has activated it. If some new people started playing RvB would be loads of fun as they accept everyone and just blow each other up. I can imagine the insane chaos that would follow if we ran around ganking people, since I think we are still at war. That said I am ready to leave this corp relatively soon if there is something fun to do.

Since they buffed assault frigates last expac there isn't a big rush into a battlecruiser. If you can fly a jaguar well you can do a lot of things. I think joining Red vs Blue would be a lot of fun, I'd consider that on one of my alts. And 5b? Wow that is a lot of money for 3 months in. I'm still not back full time that's why I don't try to get other people to play this game. It certainly isn't for everyone

I am going to stay in Oddelulf for now and probably just remain in my neutral Teh Slax corp. I have a max prober (literally everything 5) that also is 100 percent max booster (can fly all 4 tech 3s perfectly and has max skirmish, siege, info, armor links) so I just fly around in my cloaked ship looking for people to kill Then for combat I have my original char with 30m SP that will crush with skirmish links. My 3rd account flies a sick ass tengu that I use for low sec plexs' but hes also a perfect siege linker. My 4th account is my pvp bread and butter.... BC V, ReconV, HacV, maxed gunnery but still in saranen.

I can pretty much just sit on a Gate in a cheap tempest, but with dual links people get crushed and don't know why. Make sure you add my accounts... If I am logged in for a long play session you should come back and tackle some missioners for me

I think I just passed the 5 month mark, I spent two months in some random noob corp. The fact that our corps are still at war could be problematic, that is if your main is still in The Hatchery. But like I said before either I will be switching to a new "main" or just dropping corp and heading out.

I can see a few slaxers really enjoying eve, like you said its certainly not for everyone. But it is a game that caters to elitist assholes more than any other game I have played, and the most rewarding pvp I have had in a very long time. The learning curve for me was a good thing as it keeps most of the barrens retards away, however they have been replaced by 60 year old mouth breathing grandpa's who only play train simulator 2012...but at least they aren't trolling local. For me the good out weighs the bad, and gets better each month. Especially since I don't have to pay for the next 10 months if I suddenly go broke.

Hopefully we can blow some shit up in the near future.

So I made an alt today and put in an app to the Blue republic...no api or anything just click the apply button. I got accepted in about 30 seconds. I totally want to get in your main's fleet so I can get epic boosts, but until then you should totally make a scrub alt, even if we just screw around until our 21 days are up it would be fun. Much more so if we could get some other people to play

I've always expressed some interest in this game, but was rather reluctant to get hooked on it due to the subscription. How difficult is it to be able to go from starting the game to being able to pay monthly for a sub via the in-game system?

You can get a 21 day, (and I think there's a way to get 51 day) trials to get started. Most people typically would buy a month subscription after that... then after 2-3 months total char time you can start paying for PLEX (monthly sub) pretty easily.

But its so sandbox... it really depends what you are into. You could join a corporation... earn their loyalty then rob them and pay that way. Go gank miners in high sec and steal their shit. Missioning is a great stable way to make money. If you try to make money 15 hours or so a month then you can pay for it. If you decided you wanted to keep playing after your trial I could easily pay for your first month with in game moneys too.

There's also tons of EVE poker sites and lotterys (blink) to make money.

Obviously I have had to put some of that back in, and I have got a huge stash of ships...most of which I cant even fly yet.

If you get a 21 day trial from me, I will get a plex (a token for a free month) which I would give you since I am currently sitting pretty. So that would be 51 days...minus 5 dollars for the actual game...so a few days less. I would plan on paying for a couple months after that, but it's fairly easy to make money if you are willing to dedicate the time to it, which I am not.

Kwark (teamliquids CEO for past 2 years) is taking a break and stepping down, so the Hatchery is changing. They are going to merge the Spawning Pool (our training corp) with the Hatchery. When details get ironed out I will let you know Sapp, but I could easily vouch for you and get you in since I am one of the most veteran guys now.
