Server Down Selection

I'd like to have a list of potential servers ready by at least next week. At which point we can go through the pro's and con's of each and select the one right for us.

I'll just start out with Bonechewer, which was provided by Veeken. I had some old friends there who have since quit but I can get their opinion on this server. Ideally we will have around 5+ servers to discuss which one is for us.

IDK what your range is or what you're looking for in regards to specific populations/guild number. I just posted some of the more prominent Central Servers.

I am down with any of those top 4 servers. They have 25+ 25 man guilds, balanced pops, and central time zone is a nice compromise for our east/west coasters.

As for choosing between one of those 4... I really have no clue.

Let's focus our attention on these servers and try to down select from these now.

Bleeding Hollow!

Is there a reason you like Bleed Hollow besides the name! Is that where your alliance lock started?

I'm liking Magtheridon:

About 30-40 percent less population than the others. Decent faction balance (.85 not the best). High pve progression.


To me that means there are a lot of really old school raiding guilds that smash it up. Higher quality of player overall (maybe that means they are more elitist assholes though). Or maybe the real annoying people are the scrubs... who knows! But lower pop and higher progression sounds like a good combination to me.

haha I just thought it looked best balance wise and population on that list.

I have no real objection to Magtheridon, Sayrn (Reniza) did however mentioned that the PVE scene might be very hard to recruit. I think this is something Slax could ride out because the guild is like a Roach and able to survive a week or two of non-25 raiding, but def something to consider.

Mannoroth is also pretty interesting. It's Alliance sided, but don't let that fool you, there are more progressed horde guilds on that server than 2 entire Ursin. Which could be seen as both good and bad (def more pvp fun). It's Vodka (prev top 3 guild) old stomping ground before they moved because the lag was harsh in Wrath and it's since calmed down a little but the pve scene is pretty strong.

Either way, we should make a choice like soon. Sooner we move, sooner we get out name out and guild leveling.

I vote Magtheridon and be done with it. Seems to be the best for the money as it's not too huge and going to leave us with qeues and it's got a great ratio alliance to horde with good progression all the way around. I say do it and be done with it. But that's just me.

New Issue!

Few people made alts on magtheridon and they said it felt pretty dead... so we may need to rethink our selection.

I want to transfer this week if possible...


Magtheridon still is the leading choice until presented with a better choice. Speak now last chance!

But I am more worried about the target server being dead then too full. To put it another way... I'd rather their be a queue sometimes than it feel almost as dead as Ursin.

So for now, Mag is put on the side burner as its Med pop (still good option), and looking into some of the higher pop ones, not necessarily on the short list above.

On Mannorath -> doing /who 90 Class I found about 25-35 of each class for horde
on Magtheridon -> 49 of every class.

SO mag seems more popular for horde (as numbers show)

Since it's been a few weeks into the raiding rotation for servers that are actually functional, I went back at looked at Mag today on WoWProgress.

There are only like 5 Horde 25 man guilds. IDK it kinda has me uneasy about going there. At the end of the day raiding 25's again is my goal even if not as serious as I was about it.
